When school starts we generally have 100-200 participants.

1st Meeting of Fall Quarter 2005 is Monday Oct. 3rd and the meeting is moved 60 seconds away to our alternate location: UCLA Kerckhoff Hall Grand Salon.

In 1998, 1999, 2000 there were 200-250 participants per evening.
Sept. 29, Oct. 6, 1997 there were an amazing group of 160-200 participants.
From 2000-2005 the dance clubs at UCLA, switch from folk dancing to SALSA at 10 p.m. (inspired by Israeli Dance Group from Canada at Hora Keff in New York August 2000 We Learned SALSA "Casino Rueda Style" 10-11 p.m. each Monday. but 2005-6 often there will be instruction in partner dances from Israel, some Salsa Casino Rueda Style or Culture Night Parties extending from instruction by amazing guest teachers 9-10 p.m. featuring Greek, Armenian, Belly Dance, Persian Dance... SEE webpage www.studentgroups.ucla.edu/ballroomdance for detailed weekly schedule and numerous fun field trips to local dance clubs and festivals. Israeli dances are taught each week with occasional guest teachers for Armenian/Greek Dancing too.
Intermediate/Advanced Israeli Dances are taught Mondays 6:15-7 p.m. participants may join the Performing Dance Group (30 Weeks a Year Fall-Winter-Spring Qtr. Oct. 10, 2005-June 5, 2006 Come 2 hours earlier at 7 p.m. and learn Swing-Salsa-Tango-Waltz-Cha cha and other fun social ballroom dances. Since 1997 the dance lessons are given in the UCLA Ackerman Union 2nd Floor Lounge room 2414. (Occasionally meetings are moved to the UCLA Kerckhoff Hall Grand Salon which is 60 seconds walk across the Ackerman 2nd Floor Bridge) If you are coming from out of town it is best to call (310)284-3636 or email UniversityDanceClubs@yahoo.com or ballroom@ucla.edu for current schedule. Dance classes are taught only when school is in session (40 Weeks a Year) minus 4 school holidays:
Oct.- Dec., Jan.- March, April - June.

No meetings on school holidays (Martin Luther King Day 3rd Monday in January, President's Day in February, Memorial Day 4th Monday in May) No Meetings in September and during Final Exams and during Winter & Spring Break (which is Late Dec./1st Week in January/End of March/Middle of June)
