Dance Types

The "type" of dance usually refers to the way it is executed, but there are many other cases.

On israelidance.com, types are described the way a dance session leader might organize their music.

All

This is an unfiltered view of "everything" or all types.

Circle

Dances that are done in a circle formation.

Partner

Dances that are done with a partner or partners.
This is intentionally not "Couples" because (C) for circles and (C) for couples would be confusing.

Line

Dances that are done in a line formation, typically with all the dancers facing the same direction.

Nostalgia

Dances that are decades old, but they are still recognized and danced. They are often circle dances, but they have a vintage associated.

Children

Dances that are typically for children. Often taught is schools or used in performances.

Misc

Miscellanous dances and music.

Other

Other music.

International

Music for dances of international origin. An israeli dance session leader may have music for other types of dancing on their computer, and this is included for completeness of filtering and music identification.

?

The UNKNOWN type is usually assigned to a dance that has been added to the database but it has not yet been assigned a type.
